LEAP’s copy director Sarah Knott, an award-winning creative who has worked on billion-dollar brands such as Gillette and Febreze, recently reviewed creative portfolios for graduating design students at Cincinnati State. The class, titled “Professional Development for Designers,” familiarized students with presentation skills, personal branding techniques, and types of interview experiences before they jumped into the real world.
The class was clearly a success. Seconds after the review began, Sarah discovered every student was on-schedule to graduate days later. But instead of relaxed nonchalance, Sarah was greeted with energy, excitement, and fresh new professional skills in action.
“I was so impressed with the poise and passion I saw from this group,” she said. “I can’t wait to see where each of them land … one, five, ten years from now. Cincinnati agencies have a lot of talent to look forward to.”
LEAP, a digital marketing agency, has a history with getting involved with local design and advertising education. Associate Creative Director Brad Geiger has helped at several student reviews, and other creative team members have been invited to speak at industry engagements. SEO expert Nathan Engels will be presenting “0 to 150,000 Monthly Unique Visitors in One Year!” at a Cincinnati Digital Xchange event on April 29 and then again at SoFabCon later this spring.
