LEAP Gives Back with a Competitive Edge

Friendly competitions are always fun. And they get even more enjoyable (and competitive) when it’s about giving back to our local community.

On December 8, 2016 the American Advertising Federation of Louisville hosted their annual Party with a Purpose holiday party, gathering advertising professionals from the many agencies in the city.

But before the party, the organization teamed Louisville-based agencies against each other. From Dec. 1 to Dec. 8, AAF was tracking how many items were brought to benefit a local charity. The organization highlights and helps a different Louisville-based charity each year. This year, the items were donated to Hand in Hand Ministries, a nonprofit focused on strengthening communities through cultural immersion.

Whichever agency donated the most items, completed the most non-profit work or had the most social engagements based on using the hashtag #PartywithaPurpose, took home a customized trophy with an adorable honey badger on top.

Amongst our wall of awards, we were dying to place that honey badger next to our Louies.

Days before the event, the LEAP team took a trip to local stores and bought home repair items to donate to Hand in Hand Ministries.

While we definitely were proud of our contribution, and thankful for the opportunity to give back to our city, Sheehy Agency ended up taking home the honey badger. We just hope they treat it with the same love and respect we could have. (PS, Sheehy, we were planning on naming it Remington.)

After all the joyful competitive spirit was over, our team was able to enjoy appetizers, drinks and connections amongst our peers at Saint’s Sky Bar.

We want to thank AAF for organizing another wonderful Party with a Purpose and healthy competition that reminded us just how important it is to give back during this time of year.
