Being in the digital agency world, or simply being a professional, it is important to have your own brand. By brand we mean what makes the professional you, YOU?
This is what we learned at our latest beer training:
- Your name + Professional title + How you represent that title = Your personal brand.
- Your LinkedIn profile matters. Do not – we repeat – do not use a tacky photo for your profile pic. Nothing says, “this person doesn’t get it” like a department store glamour shot.
- Ready to stand up and share your brand with the crowd? Make your purpose clear. If you’re going to use props as an enlightening metaphor, make sure your audience gets the metaphor.
- If you want to be taken seriously as a professional – be professional! If you’re giving a presentation, make sure you’re prepared. Do the basics — have a point, be organized and use professional graphics. Remember this is business, not an arts and crafts project.
Your brand is your first impression in the professional world. Please don’t leave it at home.
