LEAP Gives Refreshing Edge to Alex's Lemonade Stand Website

by: lfi in News

Alex's Lemonade Stand has chosen LEAP to be its interactive agency of record. LEAP will be responsible for the execution of all web marketing for the Philadelphia-based organization.

A website, first on the list of projects, will be completed in early July. LEAP's marketing initiatives will help Alex's Lemonade Stand achieve its goal of reaching $5 million for pediatric cancer research in 2005.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to offer our services to an organization of such a worthy cause. Alex Scott's dream to help others and her determination to fight her own battle with cancer was and is inspiring," said Bill Bright, LEAP vice president of marketing. "I'm glad LEAP can be a part of that."

Alex's Lemonade Stand began in July of 2000 when 4-year-old, Alex Scott, who had been diagnosed with cancer shortly after her first birthday, opened her first lemonade stand in order to raise money for childhood cancer research.

In August of 2004, Alex passed away. But Alex's Lemonade Stand remains active and resolute to see Alex's vision through. The organization continues to raise funds and encourage and educate others to raise money for childhood cancer by holding their own lemonade stands. Several businesses have taken notice of the organization.

Corporate sponsors include: Volvo of North America, Country Time Lemonade, Jelly Belly, and Whole Foods. For more information about Alex's Lemonade Stand, visit the current site.
