LOUISVILLE, KY. – August 16, 2011 – LEAP (LEAP), a digital advertising agency, takes an integrated approach to marketing. In a campaign for Hamilton County Public Health of Cincinnati, Ohio, LEAP used both digital and traditional mediums to reach the target audience and build the most recognition for the campaign. The WeTHRIVE! campaign, a local campaign, targeting specific areas of Hamilton County, to create opportunities where the healthy choice is the easy choice.
“When we started planning the WeTHRIVE! campaign, we determined traditional media would be a great way to reach the target audience. Through billboards, radio ads, newspaper ads, television ads and event planning, we have created awareness throughout the targeted Hamilton County communities about the WeTHRIVE! movement, which has brought them together for a healthier community,” said Christy Belden, vice president of Media + Marketing at LEAP.
LEAP worked with representatives at Hamilton County Public Health to plan a community garden event, "Growing Healthy Kids & Families: Come Taste & See," a county-wide community engagement event to promote healthy food access for all. The event took place in June at one of the local churches, Word of Deliverance Family Life Center, drawing in 300 attendees. Prior to the event, LEAP worked with Hamilton County Public Health to plan the setup, assisted with entertainment, organized refreshments and activities, and worked with the community to purchase plants for attendees to take home.
On the day of the event, LEAP provided on-site support and publicized the event through real-time, on-site social media.
“It was great to help plan the event, and then see it come to life. Everybody who came to the event had a great time and they learned about healthier choices, too. Our goal was to create excitement about community gardens and to educate people about food access, and we did just that. When you get people excited about choosing the healthy option, you know you’ve done your job well,” said Belden.
On the digital marketing side of the WeTHRIVE! campaign, LEAP has created a website, facilitated a text message marketing plan, created the social media marketing properties, and is currently developing a digital out of home installation and geographic information system (GIS) mapping tool. The GIS mapping tool will provide information on healthy food locations, sports facilities, fitness trails, parks, playgrounds, pools, medical care facilities, schools and community resources.
Through the integrated approach, LEAP has created an effective, multi-faceted campaign that reaches the target audience through many mediums.
